After more than half a year of research and development, in April this year, the WOW design team introduced a revolutionary new product: the cardboard refrigerated cooler display stand. This unique solution combines the versatility of traditional cardboard display racks with the functionality of conventional air-conditioned display stands. Upon launch, the product immediately captured market attention and secured numerous overseas orders. Below, we share the details of the Coca-Cola cardboard refrigerated cooler display stand project.
Project Overview
Given its need for a cardboard display stand component, this innovative cooler is unlike anything currently available in the market. WOW collaborated with a renowned refrigerator manufacturer from Guangdong to create a display solution tailored to Coca-Cola's specific requirements. Special Design Features of the Cardboard Refrigerated Cooler Display Stand
To integrate refrigeration with a cardboard display stand, WOW incorporated several unique design elements:
1. Airflow Optimization: Since the refrigerator supplies cool air from the bottom up, we designed a 15cm-wide air supply channel at the back of the display. Additionally, 10cm of space is reserved at the top of the display for air ducting, with evenly distributed air holes beneath each shelf. This design allows cold air to circulate effectively, cooling the products from top to bottom.
2. Innovative Air-Conditioning Curtain: To overcome the challenge of sealing a cardboard display rack from air loss, WOW co-developed a transparent, easy-to-assemble air-conditioning curtain with our suppliers. This solution ensures an efficient cooling environment while allowing consumers to interact with the product.
3. Heat Dissipation: Cardboard has a lower heat resistance compared to metal. To prevent overheating, air vents were strategically placed at the bottom of the stand to dissipate heat from the refrigerator.
Additional Enhancements
To further improve the display's functionality and aesthetics, we included the following special features:
1. LED Lighting: LED light strips were integrated into the design to enhance product visibility and attract consumer attention. Special channels were created to conceal all wiring, ensuring a clean display presentation.
2. Mobility: Four universal wheels were installed, making the cooler easy to move, install, and use in various retail environments.
3. Increased Load Capacity: Hidden beneath each shelf are two metal tubes, which provide support for up to 25kg per layer, ensuring both stability and strength.
Project Outcome
This project was successfully completed in May and has now been in use in the North American market for over two months. Customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with the Coca-Cola team praising WOW's innovative design and flawless execution. Following the success of this project, WOW is now collaborating with Coca-Cola on their 2022 paper display rack renewal project, which is progressing smoothly.
